I am interested in teaching, specifically in a Primary school, therefore I have decided to apply for a variety of Primary education degrees. When I was carrying out my research I found that there are many different types- some include QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) whilst others include subject specialisms such as, Biology and English. I am hoping to find a course that incorporates QTS and the possibility of an Art specialism.
To do my research, I used the Whatuni website to look for universities offering my intended course and find out about statistics relating to them. I also found this website useful as I was able to easily find out entry requirements and compare them against other institutions. This was important for me as my A Level grades from last year will contribute towards my application therefore initially limiting courses I can apply for. My A Levels consist of CCC (96 tariff points) so I focussed my eye on courses with a range of BBC-CCC. I knew that I'd be applying to some courses that were slightly above my current grades so I needed to make sure I was happy with my personal statement and include my experiences.
